Care
Wash by hand with a mild soap and a soft sponge, then dry straight away with a cotton cloth. Skip the dishwasher and steel scrubbers.
Kansa slowly deepens in tone with use. To bring back the original glow, rub gently with lemon and salt or a little tamarind, rinse and dry.
Bell metal is hard but can crack if dropped on stone or tile. Handle it with care.
About the set

Have a Question?
Is this real Kansa?
Yes. It's bell metal made from 80% copper and 20% tin, the composition that defines kansa, and it's handcrafted by artisans in Moradabad.
Is it safe to eat from every day?
Yes. The set is 100% lead-free and suitable for everyday meals, including hot dal, curd and gravies.
What's in the set and what are the sizes?
1 thali (29.2 × 29.2 × 2 cm), 2 katoris (10 × 10 × 4 cm each), 1 sweet dish plate (12 × 12 × 4 cm), 1 glass (7.7 × 7.5 × 4 cm) and 1 spoon. The whole set weighs about 1.7 kg.
What's the difference between Plain and Engraved?
Same pieces, same metal, same dimensions. Plain has a clean matte surface. Engraved has a decorative pattern worked into the pieces by hand.
Can I put it in the dishwasher?
Please don't. Dishwasher detergents and heat can discolour bell metal. Wash by hand with a mild soap and a soft sponge, then dry it straight away with a cotton cloth.
Why does Kansa darken over time?
It's natural oxidation that forms a soft patina, not damage. If you prefer the original glow, rub gently with lemon and salt or a little tamarind, then rinse and dry.
How long will it last?
Kansa doesn't rust, flake or need a coating, so with simple care it lasts for decades and can be passed down. Bell metal is hard but can crack if dropped on stone or tile, so handle it with care.
Can I return the set?
This set isn't eligible for returns. If you have any questions before you order, or if your set arrives damaged, write to us at care@moksae.com.
